Formed in 1992, Blink-182 emerged from a suburban Southern California skate-punk scene with their musical style that combines fast-paced punk rock and catchy pop melodies. The band currently consists of Mark Hoppus on bass and vocals, Tom DeLonge on guitar and vocals and Travis Barker on drums. This trio is known for their high-energy live shows and humor with song lyrics that generally center around relationships, maturity and adolescent frustration.

Interestingly, they originally wanted to name the band Blink, but that name was already taken so to avoid any legal disputes they added “182” which is the number of times that Al Pacino drops the F-bomb in the movie Scarface.

They reached international success with their two most popular albums, Enema of the State and Take off Your Pants and Jacket, released in 1999 and 2001. To date, this American punk-pop band has sold 50 million albums worldwide with 13 million copies sold in the United States alone. Even though the pop-punk trend faded in the early 2000s, Blink-182 remained a favorite in the charts, reaching sixth in the Top Ten Billboard 200 with their albums in 2003, 2011 and 2016.

Even though Delonge left the band in 2015, he recently returned, and they released the single “Edging” in 2022. Alongside his return, the band also announced a tour for which old and new fans alike are extremely excited.
